ASM F7F Tigercat Twin ARF Airplane

The ASM Tigercat is an exciting replica of the historic Navy fighter/attack plane. It has an impressive 82-inch wingspan (almost 7 feet!) with a length of 72 inches. This size makes an easy-flying model that looks terrific in the air. ASM’s Tigercat is easy to see at any altitude or attitude, handles great, and has optional retracts and struts for the ultimate scale appearance. Its three-piece wing breaks down to fit nicely in most vehicles.

While we wouldn’t recommend this model to a novice modeler-pilot, experienced modelers will find the ASM F7F Tigercat easy to assemble, easy to set up, and quite versatile.

Specifications:
  • Wingspan: 82 In
  • Wing Area: 1160 SqIn
  • Wing Loading: 30-34 Oz/SqFt

More Information About the F7F Tigercat Twin ARF Airplane
The Grumman F7F Tigercat was the first twin-engined fighter aircraft designed to enter service with the United States Navy. The Tigercat was intended for the Midway class of aircraft carriers as it was too large for the decks of earlier types.

Although delivered to USMC combat units before the end of WW-II, the Tigercat did not see combat service in that war. In fact, most F7Fs ended up in land-based service as attack aircraft or night fighers. Only the later F7F-4N model was certified for carrier service. Tigercats saw service in the Korean War and were withdrawn from service in 1954.

Features:
  • Detail-molded ABS skins and fiberglass cowls
  • Factory-covered wings and tail
  • Factory-painted fuselage, engine nacelles & cowls
  • Three-piece wing for easy transport
  • Accepts a wide range of power systems: 2-stroke, 4-stroke, or BL electric motors
  • Exceptional flying qualities
  • Includes strong wire landing gear and lightweight standoff scale wheels
  • Includes a generous hardware package
  • Optional retracts and oleo struts available separately
